The exhibition "Im Walde" at the KUNSTANSICHTEN 2026
"I went into the forest for myself, and to seek nothing, that was my purpose" (Goethe). This work understands the forest not as a reflection of nature, but as a mirror of the human inner self. In the layers of oil paint, the ego is not searching for a path, but for itself. It is a topography of silence, in which the vegetative thicket becomes a shelter from the noisy world.
Here, light and shadow merge into a utopia of origin - a forest that was not yesterday, but takes place in the now. The play of the incident light breaks up the heavy material of the trunks and transforms the forest into a cathedral of tranquillity. The aesthetics of the untouched remind us that the forest is the only place where time has no linear meaning. Every leaf and every shadow is a brushstroke against the hectic pace of modernity.
