Create your own collages from magazines and found objects - from the search for materials to the composition. Previous knowledge is not required. Materials will be provided.
Anna Louisa Belz focuses her artistic practice on collages that explore complex emotions and surreal inner worlds through layered, analog compositions. This process allows her to translate emotional states, personal reflections and social tensions into visual form.
Belz's collages combine found objects from magazines with dried natural elements, textured papers and accents of acrylic paint. She deliberately refrains from using glue: the arrangements shift and evolve until they find a temporary balance. The final step is photography and the subsequent print, which preserve the fleeting, floating quality of the original constellation.
Themes such as duality, identity and the search for personal autonomy run through her work. The artist's compositions invite us to question expectations and engage with ambiguity - spaces of openness in which meaning is discovered rather than assigned.
Anna Louisa Belz
Anna Louisa Belz has been moving through various artistic media - collage, photography, painting, text and music - since the age of fifteen. Working in different media enables her to express different facets of inner experience and to illuminate emotional states from multiple perspectives. Themes such as identity, duality and emotional transformation run through her entire oeuvre. While studying digital photography at the Cologne Photo Academy, she discovered analog collage as her main medium. Her collage process is deliberately flexible: she dispenses with glue, allows the compositions to develop freely and then captures them through photography and printing. She shows her work in solo and group exhibitions in the Rhine-Main region and beyond.
