SCAPE° - Weather. Climate. People.

SCAPE° is an interactive exhibition space in Offenbach. Under the motto "Weather, climate, change. We explain and explore it together", the major connections between weather and climate are explained at hands-on stations, in workshops and events, and the role of humans in this is examined. Artistic positions broaden the perspectives: What world do we live in? What kind of world do we want to live in? And what means do we have to shape the future?

The sound composition "Forest in your ears" by Lasse-Marc Riek takes visitors on an acoustic journey through the forest: from the wind to the cracking ice of a frozen lake, from insects to cranes and barely audible caterpillar sounds, a lively soundscape unfolds. From the forest floor to the treetops and down below the surface of the water, it is possible to experience how beautiful and indispensable functioning ecosystems are for humans.

The "April Weather" installation simulates weather phenomena such as rain, fog or snowfall based on a physical weather model. Visitors influence the events with their silhouettes and trigger changes in air pressure and temperature in real time. A rotary wheel can be used to switch between weather conditions; power-ups provide playful effects.

"Wetter Mi. - Wohnzimmer um 6 pm", a project by artist Jihae An, is an open meeting format that takes place every Wednesday at SCAPE° and focuses on talking and doing things together. The audience is intergenerational, international and comes from the immediate neighborhood. For the 2026 annual program, Jihae An takes up the annual theme of "Circulation" in workshops, performances and other interactive formats and invites artists to approach the topic practically, experimentally and openly on four dates. How can artistic working methods bring people into conversation with each other? How can everyday themes such as material cycles, care, seasons or routines be explored and revisited together? The audience doesn't just watch, but actively thinks along, helps shape and becomes part of the artistic process.

As part of the World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026 and the MADE.festival, SCAPE° is also the venue for "Hooked on a Book", a project by Rimini Protokoll, initiated by Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain: a play that requires no stage and no audience - that can take place in any corner of the world, on a hermit's farm, in a small town or in a metropolis. Page by page, two people become entangled and thus become the main characters of the book.
