BM Peter Schneider presents smiley to Sana Catering Service GmbH
04.09.2017 – The city of Offenbach awards the Offenbach Smiley for good hygiene and quality in the catering trade. This is based on good inspection results from the food inspection department of the Office for Veterinary and Consumer Protection. Mayor Peter Schneider has now also presented the cheerful Offenbach smiley to the team at Sana Catering Service GmbH.
He was delighted that another company had applied for and received the yellow "smiley".
Sana Catering Service GmbH (Ismaning) supplies the staff restaurant, cafeteria and elective services ward for private patient care at the Sana Klinikum with around 320 meals a day. It is a subsidiary of Sana Kliniken AG, one of the largest hospital groups in Germany, and is responsible for catering for patients and staff. Great importance is attached to a high-quality range and attractive meals, as the "food service" in particular is always under scrutiny in a hospital. A prerequisite for good food service is, of course, the hygienic preparation and serving of the meals. To ensure this, the 36 employees work with a comprehensive quality and hygiene management system, which is also clearly reflected in the good inspection results.
In 2013, the then municipal clinics were taken over by Sana Kliniken AG, and in 2014 the catering area was taken over by Sana Catering Service GmbH. The staff restaurant is open to the public every day from 6.30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and hot meals are available from 12.30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
