Information on data protection in the implementation of the Infection Protection Act

The Infection Protection Act requires us to collect and process extensive data from you and third parties. As your health data is subject to the special protection of Article 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation, we take great care to protect this data and process it exclusively in accordance with the legal requirements.

The processing authorization is based on Article 6 paragraph 1c of the General Data Protection Regulation. We process your address and contact details, your personal identification details and your health data, insofar as these are relevant under the Infection Protection Act. Your data will be passed on to the responsible state authority and, if applicable, the Robert Koch Institute, provided that the law stipulates corresponding reporting obligations. We have received notification that you are affected by a notifiable disease or may have been infected from your attending physician or the examining laboratory, or you have been named to us as a contact person by an affected patient. In the latter case, we are not allowed to tell you who named you as a contact person - this would be a breach of medical confidentiality, to which we are also bound.

Your data will be stored by us or the receiving agencies for as long as is necessary due to the treatment and/or statutory storage periods.

You have the right to request information from us about exactly which of your data we process. If we process incorrect information, you not only have the right to request a correction from us - we expressly ask you to inform us of such errors. The exercise of further rights to which you are entitled under the General Data Protection Regulation (right to erasure or to restriction of processing as well as the right to object to data processing and to data portability) is subject to statutory provisions. If you have any questions, our data protection officer will be happy to advise you.
