Health promotion networks in Offenbach

The Early Help Network supports expectant parents and families with children up to the age of three. Specialists from healthcare, child and youth welfare, counseling, early intervention and family education work together to develop needs-based services, especially for families under pressure. The city's early help services include, for example, family midwives, "Goldmarie" for young pregnant women or the baby and toddler consultation hours of the educational counseling service. The independent providers also offer a comprehensive range of advice and assistance.

In the Offenbach Parents' School Network, independent providers of parental education and advice work together with municipal offices to develop and test model projects that also strengthen parental skills in relation to the healthy development of their children. The focus is on providing low-threshold health knowledge, practical tips for everyday family life that promotes development and easy access to the support system.

A small network of stakeholders from various organizations has come together from the participants and workshop leaders of the first "Mental Health Day" of the Children and Youth Parliament. Current and future projects to promote the mental health of children and young people can thus be presented and coordinated.

The Addiction Prevention Unit at the Wildhof Addiction Help Centre organizes and moderates the Addiction Working Group. The network exchanges information on current topics relating to addiction support and prevention and organizes events and lectures on addiction-specific topics. A "Good methods of addiction prevention" network is offered for guidance teachers, school social workers and addiction prevention officers at schools in Offenbach. This network focuses on the needs of schools, connects teachers and consolidates addiction prevention methods and projects.

The network within the "teamw()rk for health and work" project is made up of the project coordinator, employees of the job center and various non-profit actors and providers of measures in the city of Offenbach. In addition to existing measures, the network partners offer their customers subsidized prevention services in the areas of exercise, nutrition and mental well-being as part of the project. By networking, the offers can reach more people in Offenbach and at the same time be implemented more effectively.

The aim of the Heat Action Plan network is to protect vulnerable groups in particular (e.g. older people and young children) from the health risks posed by heat, which will continue to increase as a result of the climate crisis. The network consists of a broad alliance of actors from the city administration who focus in particular on the target groups affected. The core tasks of the network are to disseminate information and tips so that everyone is able to protect themselves and to develop measures to mitigate the effects of summer heat. The up-to-dateness of the heat action plan is constantly reviewed and adapted if necessary.

A sustainable network has been established from the former project group "Bewegt älter werden in Offenbach". This association of various stakeholders in the city supports the promotion of physical activity and health for older people in Offenbach. Current projects and needs are discussed and presented. On this basis, new needs-based measures to promote exercise and health among older people are developed.
