Apprentices report: What we like about our jobs at the City of Offenbach!

Celine is in her second year of training as an administrative assistant. For her, customer contact is the highlight of her training: "I love helping citizens and answering their questions," she says enthusiastically.

The City of Offenbach not only offers a wide range of work areas in various offices, but also exciting insights into practical work. A special experience for Celine was the joint trip with the city police on field duty - an unforgettable moment that showed her how varied her tasks are.

Another advantage of the apprenticeship is the strong network among the trainees. "It's great not to be alone. We can exchange ideas and support each other," says Celine.

Marcel decided to train as an IT specialist specializing in system integration and is enthusiastic about the wide range of opportunities offered to him by Offenbach City Council. "I particularly like the wide range of meaningful tasks and the associated challenges that I get to master here every day."

Another plus point is the comprehensive support he receives during his training. Technical aids such as books, documents, a company cell phone and notebook are provided, and detailed technical support is given, which makes learning easier.

Thanks to the flexitime model, Marcel can organize his daily routine flexibly and adapt his working hours to his personal needs.

Tabea first completed an apprenticeship as an administrative assistant and is now continuing her knowledge in a dual study program in Public Administration. She particularly appreciates the diversity and variety of her previous experiences. Both during her training and her studies, she is brought very close to everyday working life, which provides her with valuable practical experience.

"You don't just learn to read legal texts here, you also have a lot of contact with people," says Tabea. One of the highlights of her time was getting to know Offenbach and being out and about a lot. During her studies, she is deepening her specialist knowledge and studying psychological aspects and different ways of dealing with people.

She particularly enjoys the opportunity to work on projects and learn about project management.

Voices from training & studies

I particularly liked the compatibility of family and career, even during my training.

Katarina Hrustanovic, training as an administrative assistant

My studies confirmed my conviction that my future work will have a significant impact on society.

Tobias Baist, Dual Study Program Public Administration

Shortly before graduation, there was a discussion with the training manager about possible offices for a future job. Hardly any other employer offers such diversity as the City of Offenbach - be it culturally or in terms of jobs.
