City of Offenbach

Strong signal for training in the city administration

16.09.2024 – The City of Offenbach is sending out a strong signal for the future of young people and is launching a comprehensive campaign to promote its apprenticeships and dual study programs.

The new campaign runs under the slogan "Are you Offenbach for your training?". To which the answer is: "We are Offenbach for you!". "With this initiative, the city wants to appeal to young talent and draw attention to the diverse opportunities that our city administration offers as an employer," explains Lord Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke. "We are an attractive employer in this region and would like to specifically recruit young people who are committed to our Offenbach. Not only our city, but also our city administration is diverse - in terms of the biographies of our employees, but also our fields of activity. We are open to new ideas and cultivate a respectful approach."

The campaign was launched on Monday, September 16, 2024, and includes public relations work as well as a targeted approach in schools and educational institutions. The aim is to raise awareness of the attractive career opportunities in the city administration and promote dialog with Offenbach's young people. Applications for apprenticeships and dual study courses will open on October 1, 2024. The campaign's message is: "Manage what matters - get to know the diverse world of administration and actively help shape our city. Shape what remains - creative ideas are needed to make city life vibrant and fit for the future. Together with around 1,400 colleagues, you will develop the future of a city in transition. Develop who you are - we have room for individual strengths and interests. Diversity as a strength of the city - each individual makes a valuable contribution," reports Laura Weigand from the Human Resources Office, who is in charge of the campaign.

The campaign features three employees of the city administration who talk about their personal experiences from their training and studies. These testimonials are intended to encourage young people to opt for an apprenticeship or dual study program at the city administration. The campaign will be communicated via various channels, including social media, posters in the city and an appearance at a careers fair.
