Offenbach - obviously different.
Clichés about the public sector persist in society. Our campaign "Offenbach - obviously different" does away with clichés about jobs at the city - and shows what really makes us different as an employer: our open attitude and the uniqueness of our people create a lively working atmosphere that clearly contradicts the clichés.
Come and see for yourself, we look forward to welcoming new employees!
The reality behind the clichés:
Boring? We are really committed!
With around 1,300 employees, we manage the coexistence of a multicultural and open city - how can that be boring? The city's mentality is in our blood: we wear our hearts on our sleeves, make decisions with courage and are proud to make a valuable contribution to the people of the city every day.
When she's not at the harbour or the town hall pavilion, you can meet Anne in her tandem Stabsstelle Digitalization, which she shares with Marius. In her mission to advance the digitalization of the city, she can make a difference beyond the boundaries of the organization and positively influence the lives of many people in the city. She is always particularly pleased to meet allies - people who are passionate about making a difference.
Bourgeois? We are open in many ways!
We are always happy to welcome new people with creativity and ideas! Equal opportunities for women and men as well as for different lifestyles, nationalities and religions is a matter of course for us. The best results are achieved in diverse teams with flat hierarchies - and we attach great importance to fairness and respect. The range of possible jobs is anything but bourgeois: whether organizing events, advising people on individual projects or planning public funding - there's something for everyone here!
What does Bernd particularly appreciate as Deputy Head of the Youth Welfare Office at the City of Offenbach? The friendliness among each other, his creative freedom for innovative things and, above all, the fact that the meaningfulness of decisions is more important than compulsive compliance with bureaucratic processes.
Small-minded? We are certainly flexible!
Work must fit life, not the other way around. We find intelligent solutions for every life situation - and tasks that suit your personality! We don't want people to manage things, we want them to take responsibility for shaping and driving things forward. Short paths and a pragmatic approach determine our daily work!
As a mother, Derya particularly enjoys the flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home. The equal treatment of all people and our further training opportunities give her security and a long-term perspective.
Lara Reichwein, manages personnel marketing in the HR departmentWe are looking for new colleagues who are keen to work on projects for the future of the city of Offenbach - and who want to see for themselves that working for us is obviously different from the stereotype. It's time to tackle the issue of clichés and show what it's really like - because I've never been bored a single day.
