Last week, the City of Offenbach provided information about the preparations for the upcoming recalculation of property tax amounts in Hesse. Contrary to the city's announcement, however, property owners must take action themselves and submit the required data on the location and size of the property as well as the living and usable space independently via the Elster online tax portal. The Hessian tax authorities will not send any letters to the owners. The deadline for submitting the legally required data begins on July 1 and ends on October 31, 2022. The city will provide further information ahead of this period via the media and the municipal internet portal offenbach.de and recommends that all those affected make a note of the submission period in their personal calendar.
