First census results are online

The first census results are in. The Federal Statistical Office published the population figures as of May 15, 2022 at the Federal Press Conference on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. The results will be successively presented on the website www.zensus2022.de (opens in a new tab) with immediate effect. The surveys were used to collect data on education, employment, net cold rents and buildings, among other things.
The data on the city of Offenbach will gradually be made available via www.offenbach.de/zensus (opens in a new tab). According to the census, Offenbach had 129,479 inhabitants on May 15, 2022, 64,456 of whom were female. This means that the population in Offenbach fell by 2.8 percent compared to the 2011 census. The population has also fallen in all other major cities in Hesse (with the exception of Wiesbaden) according to the census. The sometimes considerable deviations from the population register already existed in earlier updates of the 2011 census. The Federal Statistical Office will carry out a revision of the official population data on the cut-off dates of June 30/December 31 for the years 2022-2024.
