Demands of Local Agenda 21 to Offenbach politicians
22.04.2021 – For the 2021 local elections, Local Agenda 21 has drawn up a paper in which the volunteers formulate their demands to Offenbach's politicians. The list of demands is based on the Local Agenda 21 projects and is intended to be the starting point for a dialog to find solutions with the involvement of citizens.
Volunteers are currently working on the topic of using waste heat from data centers. Several new data centers are also being built in Offenbach to cope with the increasing amount of data. Local Agenda 21 would like permits to be made dependent on the environmental compatibility of the operation. Another project is the "Offenbach Bicycle Decision", an important contribution to the traffic turnaround in Offenbach.
"We have personally written to the candidates standing for election in the new legislative period with this list of demands. We chose this approach because the elected members of the city parliament will decide Offenbach's fate in the coming years. We would like to enter into a dialog with the elected city councillors now that the elections are over. One of Local Agenda 21's main expectations of politicians is the implementation of citizen participation," emphasizes Barbara Levi-Wach, honorary managing director of Local Agenda 21.
