Former Head of City Council Stephan Färber

Stephan Färber can look back on decades of experience in local politics. He joined the SPD in 1971 and has been a member of the Offenbach city parliament since 1985. Färber also worked for many years as an honorary judge at the state labor court in Hesse.

The former SPD parliamentary group leader (2004-2011) was an honorary city councillor in Department VI from 2011-2016 and thus also responsible for the office of the Foreigners' Advisory Council.

The family man, who was born in 1950 and still lives in the Bieber district, is known for his down-to-earth, balanced manner. In his first speech as head of parliament, Färber appealed to all city councillors to work together across party lines and to seek closeness to the citizens.

Stephan Färber was unanimously elected as head of the city council and successor to Sieglinde Nöller (CDU) on April 14, 2016. At the constituent meeting following the municipal elections in March 2021, the councillors re-elected him to the office of "First Citizen" of the City of Offenbach, which he held until the end of March 2026.
