City center round table
Goals
The Round Table City Center wants to contribute to the following goals:
- Eliminate concrete grievances
- Increase the sense of security of fellow residents
- Active and constructive participation in planning and development in the district
- Increase identification with the district and thus improve the quality of life
Organization and work
Since 1997, representatives from facilities and institutions such as schools, the police, public order office, youth welfare office, youth center (JUZ Sandgasse), BI östliche Innenstadt, churches and mosque communities, associations, welfare organizations, daycare centers, parent representatives and interested citizens have been meeting six to seven times a year to jointly observe developments in the inner city, including the Mathildenviertel, and to discuss how living conditions can be improved, especially for children and young people in the district.
Measures are initiated and supported. It is often the little things in everyday life that cause problems and can often be remedied quickly. Sometimes it is the neighbor who illegally places his bulky waste on the street, sometimes the dog owners who do not remove the dog excrement, or road users who do not drive at an appropriate speed through the city center.
An annual highlight is the district festival, organized by the district office on Mathildenplatz with the support of many Round Table participants. The district festival promotes the contacts between institutions and residents that are necessary for effective prevention work.
In addition to current information on events and projects in the district, interested parties can also find contacts to local associations and information and/or contact persons in matters of prevention. The whole thing takes place in a convivial setting, with music, performances and food from the residents' various countries of origin and homelands, among other things - these festivals also promote tolerance and the coexistence of different cultures in the district and have thus themselves acquired a high integrative and preventative value over the years.
The Round Table Inner City (RTI) is organized by the neighbourhood management at Mathildenplatz. The meetings usually take place in the district office on Mathildenplatz (since 2002), sometimes also at participating institutions in the inner city area or in the Mathildenviertel.

Repeated cleanliness campaigns and the adoption of sponsorships by citizens have promoted coexistence, especially in the Mathildenviertel, and improved the situation in the neighborhood.
The BI Östliche Innenstadt repeatedly supports the work of the local litter investigators from the public order office. The stakeholders are supported by Stadtwerke Offenbach Holding (SOH) as part of the "Better living in Offenbach" project, the public order office, the 1st police station and the ESO.
Employees of the public order office collect small items of waste in the pedestrian zone and in the Mathildenviertel as part of the "Clean inner city" project, in addition to the regular street cleaning carried out by the ESO. The Gemeinnützige Baugesellschaft Offenbach (GBO) has played a major role in upgrading the Mathildenviertel district by offering the "ostpol" in Herrmann-Steinhäuser-Straße and by converting the former Hartnackschule and leasing the building to the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
