Prevention of extremism
Promoting democratic attitudes in the city and preventing and countering radicalization - these are the declared goals of the city of Offenbach am Main.
In autumn 2016, the city of Offenbach established the local Partnership for Democracy, which works together with citizens, young people, clubs and associations to promote democracy and diversity. It promotes and supports projects to promote democracy, shape diversity and prevent extremism.
Since September 2021, there has also been a "Specialist Unit for the Promotion of Democracy and Cross-Phenomenon Extremism Prevention" (DEXT Specialist Unit) in the city of Offenbach. It is the first point of contact for preventing extremism in the city administration, schools and institutions.
