Prevention concerns us all

A healthy community can only develop in a safe atmosphere. Order is the prerequisite for this. Disorder and dirt form the breeding ground for a fear-inducing environment. Impairments to public order must therefore be included in prevention considerations. Areas of conflict and their causes must be identified at an early stage and preventive measures introduced in good time. A sustainable crime prevention strategy must take into account the diversity of causes. This requires, in particular, close and trusting cooperation between the City of Offenbach and the police. Crime prevention is a task for society as a whole, which the police and judiciary cannot tackle alone. In addition to the special responsibility of the city administration and the police, associations, clubs and organizations active in Offenbach can make their specific contribution by working together on an overarching crime prevention concept for Offenbach. The resulting network of those involved in prevention supports and facilitates the implementation of the prevention goals. Understood in this sense, crime prevention encompasses all efforts, programs and measures aimed at preventing or reducing crime or minimizing its consequences.
