City of Offenbach

Pigeons must not be fed

08.11.2024

There are currently indications that pigeons are increasingly being fed in the Offenbach city area. The public order office therefore draws attention to the existing feeding ban based on Offenbach's street regulations. If the city police detect such violations during their checks, they will be punished with a warning fine and fines of up to 500 euros are also possible.

There is currently an order to the city police to pay special attention to unauthorized pigeon feeding during patrols in the city centre and on the harbour deck and to punish violations against the scattering of food.

"If there are any further indications of illegal feeding sites, the city police will carry out unannounced checks there," says Pascal Becker, head of the city police department. "To do this, we need reports from our citizens, stating the specific location and feeding times. Our citizen service will accept reports at the e-mail address buergerservice-stadtpolizeioffenbachde or by calling 069 8065-2860."
