Where can you barbecue in Offenbach?
The right barbecue area
If you don't have your own garden, you can use public green spaces for barbecues.
However, not all parks and meadows can simply be used as barbecue areas.
Barbecues in Offenbach are only permitted on the banks of the Main from April 1 to October 31:
The barbecue area is located at the level of Arthur-Zitscher-Straße up to the streetball field.
The barbecue area was equipped with additional, larger waste garbage cans and a container for hot ashes at the start of the season.
Barbecues are prohibited in all other areas on the banks of the Main, in all parks and on all meadows in Offenbach. Please adhere to these regulations and show consideration for nature and local residents.
The right barbecue
Make absolutely sure that the embers container is a sufficient distance from the ground so that the lawn is not damaged.
For this reason, barbecuing with disposable barbecues is not permitted.
Dealing with fire
Do not use liquid firelighters or alcohol for barbecues on the Main, but only non-hazardous barbecue firelighters, e.g. in the form of cubes.
For your own safety, do not take your eyes off the embers when barbecuing. Always extinguish the barbecue fire completely when you leave it.
Campfires and open fires are not permitted.
Disposal of embers, ash and waste
Barbecues are no longer permitted after 10 pm. Please dispose of the completely extinguished ashes properly, as well as all packaging, bottles and other waste you have brought with you.
There are extra large bins on the barbecue area for waste produced, as well as a container for hot ashes.
If the bins there are overfilled, please use another garbage can nearby or dispose of the waste at home. It is not permitted to dispose of waste next to or on top of a bin, and fines will be levied for non-compliance.
