The higher the pile of garbage, the less chance there is of identifying the original polluter and imposing a fine. Offenbach's public order office states: "If garbage has been lying on the roadside for more than a day, it can be assumed that it has been disposed of illegally or put out long before an agreed bulky waste date. We then immediately send our waste investigators to secure evidence and to locate possible witnesses through questioning. Stadtservice will also arrange for the bulky waste to be removed immediately."
If garbage is disposed of on private property, the city cannot act immediately as the owner must first give their consent.
Deposits of garbage can be reported to the public order office by calling the hotline on 069 / 80 65 - 47 47. The line is manned from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the week.
Only the "stupid ones" dump bulky waste illegally. If you get caught, you pay. Yet the disposal of televisions, cupboards and basement shelves is so easy in Offenbach. The City of Offenbach's own company offers a convenient package with expert advice. Part of the package is the free collection of bulky waste. Appointments can be made with Stadtservice Customer Service. Smaller quantities of bulky waste, electrical appliances, furniture or garden waste can be taken to the Stadtservice recycling center at Dieselstraße 37.
