There were 18 disturbances of the peace. Four of these concerned catering establishments.

The city police took care of eight helpless people this week.

Among them was a drunken man lying half-naked in a restaurant toilet. He was disoriented and had a slightly bleeding head wound. A breath alcohol test showed 2.51 per mille. The patrol called for an ambulance, which took the man to a clinic.

The traffic police carried out checks at 38 different measuring points using mobile speed measuring devices. In 211 cases, warnings or fines were issued for exceeding the speed limit. 1,621 vehicles were parked incorrectly.

25 vehicles had to be towed away due to significant traffic disruptions. These included blocked fire department access roads and entrances and exits, parked-up bends or unauthorized parking spaces for the disabled.

The city police registered 57 vehicles for compulsory deregistration for the Offenbach registration office. This usually concerns vehicles for which the insurance or tax has not been paid or which are no longer roadworthy due to significant defects. In addition, the municipal police carried out four investigations at the respective residential addresses of vehicle owners on behalf of other authorities.

Right at the beginning of the month (March 2), the city police carried out a check on the compulsory insurance of e-scooters, as the insurance year begins annually on March 1. During the check, eleven e-scooters were found to be without insurance cover. One e-scooter was seized because the driver was under 14 years old. Five e-scooters were driving illegally in the pedestrian zone, as was one car driver. In addition, one cyclist was speeding in the pedestrian zone and another was using a cell phone. Six cyclists were riding in the wrong direction on the Berliner Straße cycle path.

A patrol followed up a tip-off about a merchandise stand in front of a kiosk that would restrict the sidewalk and also had sharp edges. They entered the kiosk to check a permit. The person in charge of the store could only identify himself with an expired residence permit. He also stated that he had been helping out in the store for a few days and that he knew nothing about a permit for the displays in front of the building. A further inspection of the sales premises revealed various violations, including unauthorized e-cigarettes, incorrectly stored nitrous oxide bottles, unauthorized chewing tobacco and snus as well as tobacco products without the required tax stamps. The patrol called in internal specialist departments, a support patrol and customs. In the course of extensive inspections of the business premises, further prohibited tobacco and nicotine products, beverage containers without deposit labels, goods without price labels and already opened foodstuffs were found, some of them on shelves with mouse droppings. Customs seized the tobacco and nicotine products. The city police confiscated the nitrous oxide and passed on the overall facts of the case to the relevant authorities; customs initiated a criminal complaint.

The AG Leistungsmissbrauch asked for administrative assistance. It was suspected that unauthorized workers' accommodation might be located in a house. The officers initially questioned the neighbors. They found that several people were staying in the apartment in question. The emergency services knocked on the door several times before a man opened it. He stated that there were other people in the apartment. During the conversation, the emergency services observed how three people ran out of the kitchen into a room and locked the door behind them. The emergency services entered the apartment to clarify the residence status of the people and also requested additional patrols for support. After knocking on the door several times, it was opened. When asked, the people found there stated that they had no identity documents. As the residence status of five people was unclear, they were taken to the relevant police station.

A follow-up check regarding a special use in a bistro revealed considerable deficiencies. There was expired and spoiled food in both the refrigerators and the cold store. The refrigerator in the sales room contained only expired and spoiled dairy and sausage products. Some of the labels with the best-before date had been removed. The person in charge, who was present at the scene, told the patrol that he was aware of this condition but had been instructed by the owner to continue selling the goods. In addition, the city police found beverage containers that did not have the required deposit labeling. The veterinary office was informed.

The city police were asked to help remove election posters from unauthorized locations in the city centre. They found a total of 72 posters from various parties in unauthorized locations and removed them. The parties were informed by the responsible department.

Someone reported a dog that had been alone in an apartment for days. On site, the patrol was able to identify the apartment in question and heard dogs barking when they knocked. They managed to contact the owner by telephone. He stated that he was on his way home. A check did not confirm the basic suspicion of neglect. It was a three-month-old mixed-breed puppy, which left a good overall health impression. As the dog owner stated that he had brought the dog to Germany when it was about eight weeks old, the veterinary office was informed. This is because dogs may only be imported into Germany with a valid rabies vaccination. However, this in turn can only be carried out at the age of twelve weeks, meaning that the import of the animal was not permitted. The dog owner was ordered to contact the veterinary office.

A woman who was eight months pregnant appeared at the police station together with her parents and stated that she had been the victim of domestic violence. According to them, her husband had threatened to kill her and thrown a chair at her. A patrol drove to the address together with the people. The man was issued with a one-week restraining order in writing and was escorted out. An extension of the order is being sought in court.

The city police were deployed at two rallies. There were no special incidents.

The municipal police carried out 25 residence investigations at the request of public offices and authorities. This primarily involves checking addresses where urgent official mail could not be delivered due to a missing letterbox and/or a missing doorbell, as well as checking marital partnerships.
