The city police were called to 17 disturbances, four of which were in restaurants.

The city police took care of four helpless people this week.

The traffic police carried out checks at 31 different locations using mobile speed measuring devices. In 145 cases, warnings or fines were issued for exceeding the speed limit.

22 vehicles had to be towed away due to significant traffic disruptions. These included blocked fire department access roads and entrances and exits, blocked parking on bends or unauthorized parking spaces for the disabled. 1900 incorrectly parked vehicles received a parking ticket.

69 new vehicles were registered for compulsory deregistration at the Offenbach registration office. This usually concerns vehicles for which the insurance or tax has not been paid or which are no longer roadworthy due to significant defects. In addition, the municipal police carried out seven investigations at the respective residential addresses of vehicle owners on behalf of other authorities.

During a foot patrol through the pedestrian zone, the city police noticed a person who had been wanted the previous day and who was to be taken to a specialist psychiatric clinic for assessment on the basis of a court order. However, the woman had not been found at the reported address the day before. The patrol took the woman to the police station to clarify whether the order was still valid. As this was the case, an ambulance took the woman to a specialist clinic.

Someone reported a lightly clothed man shouting in front of a school to the municipal police. A patrol drove to the school and encountered a heavily intoxicated man with adhesive plasters from an ECG and IV residue on his body. Using the emergency contacts on his cell phone, the patrol was able to determine his personal details and make contact with his son. The son stated that his father was seriously ill and suffering from tuberculosis, among other things. Apparently, the man had left the hospital without consulting a doctor. An ambulance brought him back to the hospital.

A patrol noticed a vehicle whose main inspection had expired some time ago. The seals on the license plates were still intact, only the Hessian emblems were scratched. A check in the system revealed that the license plates had been assigned to an Audi since the beginning of 2026. However, there was a Volkswagen on site and the license plates were visually much older. There was no recognizable chassis number, no environmental sticker and the car was locked. As this was a case of forgery, the state police were called in for further investigations. They consulted the local court. The responsible judge agreed to the forced opening of the car to determine the chassis number. The case was then handed over to the state police.

The state police station requested assistance with a physical altercation involving several people at a nightclub. When a patrol arrived on the scene, the bouncers there stated that the group had already dispersed. On the way to the new scene, the patrol saw a larger group of people from a distance. An officer from the regional police tried to restrain a person lying on the ground. The patrol supported him and supervised the man. The man became increasingly aggressive, uttered loud insults and increased his resistance. When the patrol tried to take the man to the patrol car, he put up considerable physical resistance so that he had to be brought to the ground repeatedly and other officers were called in to assist. Subsequently, it took considerable effort to get the man into the state police vehicle. In the meantime, he kicked the police officers several times. The man was eventually taken to the state police station.

The city police ensured traffic safety during the festivities on the day of the Sugar Festival. There were no incidents worth mentioning.

The municipal police carried out 15 residence investigations at the request of public offices and authorities. This primarily involves checking addresses where urgent official mail could not be delivered due to a missing letterbox and/or a missing doorbell, as well as checking marital partnerships.
