City of Offenbach

Weekly report from October 6 to 12, 2025

13.10.2025

Disturbance of the peace

The municipal police responded to 23 incidents, four of which were in the commercial sector.

A loud garden party meant that a patrol had to intervene. On site, the officers encountered 15 people. The patrol asked the partygoers to keep a quiet night and turn off the music. Although this was initially complied with, the group turned the music on again a short time later. The city police broke up the party when they visited the party for the second time that evening. The break-up of the party was delayed as the guests present refused to leave the premises. After the city police informed the guests that they would have to call in support patrols, the guests went home.

Due to a disturbance caused by drunk people, a patrol drove to Ludwigstraße. On site, the police encountered three people. The people claimed to be Moldovan citizens. As two of the people were unable to identify themselves, the city police called in a support patrol and then took both people to the police station. A subsequent check revealed that both people were in Germany illegally, which is why they were handed over to the state police.

Helpless persons

The city police organized help for eight people this week.

The emergency room at the SANA hospital reported a helpless person to the city police who was trying to call an ambulance to get home. The man was lying on the street outside the hospital. The hospital staff were already treating the man when the city police arrived. A breath alcohol test showed 2.75 per mille, which is why the man was admitted to hospital.

Traffic

The traffic police recorded a total of 171 speeding vehicles at 28 measuring points and initiated appropriate proceedings.

A warning or fine was issued to 1782 vehicles for parking violations or other traffic violations in stationary traffic.

The city police recorded 28 requests from the registration office to de-stamp uninsured vehicles.

A total of 36 cars were towed away.

In addition, the city police investigated 31 drivers at the respective residential addresses of the vehicle owners because they had not paid their fines for running a red light or speeding.

Security / preventive controls

The driver of a Ferrari attracted attention when he repeatedly revved the engine of the sports car. The city police stopped the car and checked the driver. The man stated that he had rented the car for a wedding. The check revealed that the tires on the rear axle were completely worn out and that the car was being used illegally as a rental vehicle. The city police prohibited the driver from driving on to the wedding. As it also turned out that the alleged hirer was not the vehicle owner, the city police seized the Ferrari on site to protect private rights. The car may now only be collected by the rightful owner.

During a bicycle check in front of the city police station, the city police stopped the driver of an e-scooter and checked the man. The city police officers noticed the smell of cannabis. When asked, the driver stated that he had smoked a joint a few hours earlier. The urine test reacted positively to THC. The scooter remained at the police station and the city police took the man to the station for a blood sample.

The store detective of a clothing store called the city police because he had observed two people stealing. On the spot, the persons described were arrested by the patrol. The police found a jacket from the department store on one of the suspects. The city police handed the two people over to the state police.

The Offenbacher Verkehrs-Betriebe (OVB) control center reported a passenger to the city police who had injured himself due to emergency braking on the bus. The patrol took care of the injured person on the spot, and the OVB control center had already requested an ambulance. Video footage from the surveillance cameras at the scene showed that the bus driver had to brake hard because a person had crossed the road at a red light. As this is a criminal offense, the city police called in the state police.

events

The city police checked the Oktoberfest on the banks of the Main several times throughout the week. In addition to regular evening noise measurements, the city police also carried out foot patrols and personal checks to ensure that the ban on knives was being observed. The city police did not find any suspicious objects during the checks.
