Disturbance of the peace
During the summer months, it is not unusual for there to be a higher incidence of disturbances. This week, the city police were deployed on 42 occasions.
Traffic
This week, the technical traffic service and the traffic police measured speeds at 25 measuring points and initiated proceedings for exceeding the speed limit in 299 cases.
There was one warning each for wrong parking or other traffic violations for 1411 vehicles or their owners.
A number of new vehicles were registered for de-stamping at the Offenbach registration office. In total, citizens reported 64 cases of significant traffic obstructions, blocked driveways, parking spaces for the severely disabled, construction sites or temporary stopping bans (e.g. for construction work or removals) to the city police this week. The city police towed vehicles away in 18 cases.
One person was allowed to sweep the road after smashing a glass bottle on the road in front of a police patrol.
In the first week of July, a cyclist who was stopped by a patrol after committing various offenses fled from the city police. The cyclist was eventually caught. During his stop, a large quantity of hashish was found in addition to an unauthorized alarm gun.
Helpless persons / In care
This week, the city police had to provide assistance to relatively few people. They only had to intervene in eight cases. The municipal police were called after several calls for help from a resident in an apartment finally fell silent. The occupant did not open the door, so the officers assumed an emergency and used a ram to open the well-secured door. The person calling for help was astonished - he was missing nothing.
Together with the care authorities, a woman was taken to the psychiatric ward of the Sana Clinic for presentation and examination. Contrary to the city police's fears, she did not put up any resistance.
While on patrol, the municipal police noticed a man being attacked with pepper spray and provided first aid. The reason for the attack could not be determined.
A woman's fear that something might have happened to her friend was allayed when the municipal police discovered that the friend, who could not be reached by phone, had been in hospital for several days.
Residents called the city police because they feared that their neighbor was being beaten by her partner. A man covered in blood and his partner with a split lip were found at the scene. However, the two denied that there had been an altercation, so the regional police had to leave.
A man, on the other hand, was not helpless but had fallen asleep and could only be woken up by a patrol in the bus.
Patrol service and security measures
This week, the city police once again inspected numerous restaurants. During a total of five checks, nine restaurants were inspected for compliance with youth and player protection, hygiene regulations and non-smoker protection. The city police found a number of deficiencies that the restaurant operators must now rectify.
Twice this week, the patrols were deployed together with the emergency services and fire department as citizens reported seeing several people on rooftops. In one case, it was a group of young people on the roof of a supermarket. In contrast, eight people were on the roof of an apartment building consuming alcohol. However, the people encountered by the municipal police were uncooperative and some of them refused to leave the roof. The last person to leave the roof insulted the emergency services afterwards.
A young man who urinated on the wall of the Capitol was similarly uncooperative. He had no understanding for this, which is why the patrol checked him and ultimately imposed a fine.
Not a week without animal action: this week, two free-roaming goats in Westerwaldweg could not be found by the city police.
Frightened relatives discovered several firearms and ammunition in an inheritance. The municipal police secured the weapons and handed them over to the weapons authority for destruction.
This week, several trees in danger of falling had to be secured. These were probably no longer safe due to heavy rain and strong winds.
A group of nine youths were partying loudly in a children's playground this week. After the municipal police officers ordered the youths to dispose of their garbage properly, they were ordered to leave, which they complied with.
Meetings and events
This week, the municipal police attended a number of small events and gatherings. There were no major incidents. Only isolated parades of vehicles during the European Championships had to be warned after some time.
Foot patrol
The city police spent many hours on foot patrol in the pedestrian zone, focusing on the harbor area, Komm Center Offenbach and the surrounding schools. Once again, a number of complaints were received.
The cooperation patrol of the city and state police, which is on the road together for six hours a day in the city area, has been well received and is highly visible. A lot of presence is shown here in the form of foot patrols, but joint checks of restaurants, paths and squares are also part of the program.
Lost property
As usual, the city police took in many items, especially cell phones, payment cards and wallets, during the closing times of the lost and found office this week. If lost, please contact fundbuerooffenbachde .
