Disturbance of the peace

The city police recorded 51 operations due to disturbances of the peace, eleven of which were in the commercial and catering sectors. The heatwave had driven many people outside late into the night.

Helpless persons

The city police took care of eleven helpless people.

Traffic

This week, the traffic police recorded 286 speeding vehicles at 42 measuring points and initiated corresponding proceedings.

A warning or fine was issued to 1943 vehicles for parking violations or other traffic violations in stationary traffic.

The city police recorded 48 requests from the registration office for uninsured vehicles to be unstamped.

At around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, an ESO refuse collection vehicle broke down in Bismarckstraße with a technical defect. This made it impossible to drive through, so the city police had to close the road to traffic. As the vehicle could not be repaired on site, it had to be towed away. The road was clear again at around 12 noon.

An unlit vehicle parked in Sprendlinger Landstraße, outside the built-up area, had to be towed away by the city police as it posed a danger to other vehicles.

A patrol noticed a moving vehicle in the pedestrian zone at night. They stopped and checked the vehicle in front of the kiosk there. The driver was uncooperative and stated that he did not have a driver's license. The driver had glassy eyes, which gave rise to the suspicion that he had taken intoxicants. The driver refused to take a breath test. The state police revealed that the man had driven under the influence of intoxicants before. A blood sample was taken by the police as a result.

In addition to the warnings issued by the traffic police, the city police were deployed in 24 cases of acute traffic offences. These included, in particular, parking offenders in disabled parking spaces, in front of fire department access roads, on the weekly market site or in temporary no-stopping zones set up for construction work, tree-cutting measures and parades, among other things. The city police had 14 vehicles towed away.

Security / preventive controls

A caller reported a person throwing glass bottles into a courtyard to the city police. The patrol met the woman, who also lives there, at the scene. She stated that she had consumed too much alcohol. She cleaned up the bottles and then went back to her apartment.

In front of an elementary school, a woman was noticed harassing schoolchildren. She was drunk. The woman did not comply with both the request to refrain from this and an order to leave, whereupon the patrol had to take her to another location.

Someone reported a man with a naked upper body running into the street. The patrol did not find the man on site. Another complaint was made that the man was now hitting parked vehicles at another location. The patrol drove there. A police patrol was already on the scene. They had already brought the man to the ground. Due to his continued aggressive and uncontrolled behavior, the troublemaker had to be restrained by two police officers and two municipal police officers. He put up considerable physical resistance. Due to his massive resistance, he had to be restrained at his hands, feet and knees. A total of four officers were therefore involved in restraining him. During the restraint, the person showed clear signs of a medical emergency, so an ambulance was called immediately. Drug abuse was suspected. Even in the ambulance, the person continued to display severe psychomotor agitation: Loud screaming, trembling, constant uncontrolled movements. The person also spat several times, which is why a spit hood had to be put on to protect the emergency and rescue services. In the shock room of the hospital, the medical staff initiated sedative measures. The man continued to show convulsive tremors, jerky eye movements and clear signs of a change in consciousness. The man had a body temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius and remained in the hospital for further medical treatment.

A citizen reported calls for help from an apartment by telephone. The patrol drove to the house in question and was also able to hear the calls. They found the apartment in question and a friend of the person concerned opened the door. The patrol found a young woman who was being cared for by her mother. The 23-year-old woman was in a very mentally distressed state. She repeatedly and loudly expressed suicidal intentions and the wish that she be given an "injection" so that "everything would be over". She continued to cry loudly and roll around on the floor, claiming that she had consumed alcohol and was overwhelmed by the whole situation. She also accused her mother of hitting her. The patrol was unable to find any objective evidence for this accusation. The ambulance service took the woman to the local Sana Clinic for further psychiatric assessment. The ambulance service informed the woman that the psychiatrist responsible would be informed of the events in order to make a professional assessment of a possible risk to herself (suicidal intent).

A disturbance reported by telephone in Frankenstraße turned out to be domestic violence. On the scene, the patrol met a woman and her boyfriend. The woman stated that her partner had beaten her. The entire apartment was badly damaged. Due to the circumstances, a patrol from the state police was called in. Both people were very drunk.

The police control center requested assistance in the search for an aggressive woman. The woman had left the locked ward, was very drunk and endangered herself. The municipal police found the woman at a kiosk in Sprendlinger Landstraße. Due to the enormous amount of alcohol she had consumed, she was no longer able to move around on her own, so an ambulance was called. This took the woman back to hospital.

A passer-by accompanied a woman to the police station who appeared confused. She was disoriented in terms of time and place. A municipal police officer was able to communicate with her. The patrol drove the woman home and handed her over to her husband and son.

An argument between three people over a cell phone on the market square escalated to such an extent that they were all ordered to leave. Shortly afterwards, the dispute flared up again elsewhere. Once again, the situation could only be resolved by moving one of the participants to another location.

On Saturday, a man with a head wound reported to the city police station. He stated that he had been hit by a bottle. An ambulance was already on the scene and treated another person who had a stab wound to the leg. The police took over further action in the confusing case.

On Sunday evening, a police patrol spotted a vehicle speeding past the police station with its hazard lights flashing. They immediately took off in pursuit and only managed to stop and check the vehicle on the corner of Bieberer Straße and Rhönstraße. When the patrol arrived, the driver got out of the car very excitedly and told the emergency services that his girlfriend in the back seat had a medical emergency and that he was on his way to hospital. The emergency services discovered that the aforementioned friend was in a state of shock. An ambulance was immediately requested by radio, and the emergency services finally initiated measures to stabilize the woman.

A witness called the city police station and reported that she had seen a child smoking an e-cigarette in a playground. When a patrol arrived, the caller was standing in front of the playground with the reported eight-year-old child and other children. The caller said that the children were at the playground every day until late at night and that the parents were not supervising them. She also handed the emergency services the disposable e-cigarette that the child had allegedly consumed. There were other children on site, one of whom turned out to be a brother. The children led the patrol to the home address. Very loud music could be heard coming from the apartment. The mother only responded after knocking and shouting several times. When the mother finally noticed her children at the front door, she asked through the door what was causing the knocking on the door and did not open it for the time being. The facts were explained to the mother. The apartment was very neglected and completely inadequate for the living situation with five children present. A report was made to the youth welfare office about the suspected risk to the child's welfare with an additional request for an urgent assessment of the living situation.

In addition, four dog checks, four enforcements of domestic authority, one expulsion order and six playground checks were carried out. Seven cases of littering were recorded and four disputes were settled. The municipal police were the first responders in nine cases of criminal offenses and took initial measures until they were handed over to the state police. One school route check was carried out. A total of 176 operations by the municipal police were registered this week.
