Disturbance of the peace
There were 48 deployments due to disturbances of the peace.
Helpless persons
The city police had to organize help for 13 helpless people this week.
The city police discovered a sleeping man on a bus. The man only opened his eyes after several attempts to wake him up. The man was swaying badly and could barely stand on his feet. A voluntary breath test revealed that he had 2.86 per mille in his blood, which is why the city police called an ambulance.
In another incident, paramedics treated a person with a laceration on the spot.
The city police encountered another drunk but responsive person. A voluntary breath test showed a level of 2.82 per mille. The city police also called an ambulance in this case.
The emergency services found a man on a sidewalk who had repeatedly lost consciousness. His breath alcohol level was 1.74 per mille. The city police also called an ambulance in this case.
The highest alcohol reading of the week was recorded for a man with 4.3 per mille. This man also required medical treatment.
Traffic
Traffic monitoring recorded a total of 197 speeding vehicles at 30 measuring points this week and initiated appropriate proceedings.
A warning or fine was issued to 2,554 vehicles for parking illegally or other traffic violations in stationary traffic.
This week, 53 new vehicles were registered for de-stamping at the Offenbach registration office. This usually concerns vehicles whose insurance or tax has not been paid.
In total, almost 28 cases of significant traffic disruptions were reported to the city police this week, such as blocked fire department access roads, entrances and exits, parked-up bends and parking spaces for the severely disabled. 20 vehicles were towed away.
Security / preventive controls
In one incident, a person was hit on the head with a drinks can and insulted, but did not require medical treatment. The unknown perpetrator fled the scene before the emergency services arrived.
A brawl was reported to the city police. A witness was only able to provide information about a previous verbal altercation. The emergency services arrived to find an injured person. Two suspected offenders had already fled in different directions when the municipal police arrived. The emergency services immediately initiated first aid measures, as one person was bleeding heavily from the right hand. Several abrasions were also visible and a broken arm was suspected. The ambulance service and police took over the further measures.
The city police were notified of six filled canisters of basic cleaner, each containing 10 liters, which were presumably disposed of illegally. The municipal police called in the fire department for professional disposal.
A local resident informed the municipal police about improperly erected scaffolding. It was blocking the entire sidewalk and was neither secured nor properly cordoned off. Two construction workers on site were able to confirm that the scaffolding did not have a permit. The emergency services suspected an illegal construction site and attempted to contact the company responsible by telephone. During an interview with the neighbors, the city police were able to locate the owner of the building. The owner confirmed that he had hired the company. The emergency services instructed the construction workers to dismantle the scaffolding and stop the work. On suspicion of illegal employment, the emergency services investigated the workers' suspected accommodation. The city police informed the responsible building inspectorate of the city of Offenbach and the financial control of illegal employment of the main customs office in Hanau.
The city police checked a cyclist whose bicycle was not roadworthy. As he also made contradictory statements about the ownership of the bicycle, the city police seized the bicycle until ownership was clarified and took the cyclist's personal details.
During a patrol, officers discovered a vehicle with invalid license plates. A query revealed that the license plates were not assigned to a currently registered vehicle. The vehicle was recorded as a wreck. A few days later, the traffic police noticed the same vehicle again at a different location. A check revealed that the license plates were not registered to the vehicle in question. The man claiming to be the owner admitted that he had knowingly affixed license plates that did not belong to the vehicle and had removed the stamps. The police then confiscated the illegal license plates and took the vehicle key.
During the search of a person on record, the police found a one-handed knife. The municipal police seized the knife and initiated proceedings.
The municipal police approached a person lying down. As the person could not identify himself and was not feeling well, the patrol took the person home. The police found a neglected apartment. In addition to the partner, the patrol also found a small child. The patrol reported the situation to the youth welfare office.
The city police also carried out a control day to ensure compliance with Offenbach's street regulations, focusing on the ban on feeding pigeons.
During one operation, one person resisted the city police and had to be restrained. Criminal charges were subsequently filed.
Two people were also banned from the premises. In seven cases, the police had to enforce domestic authority. In total, the municipal police registered 200 operations this week.
events
The city police attended two events this week, but they were very calm. Despite the bad weather, numerous OFC fans flocked to the Kickers Day at Wilhelmsplatz.
