City of Offenbach

Weekly report from September 22 to 28, 2025

29.09.2025

Disturbance of the peace

The municipal police responded to 24 incidents, seven of which were in the commercial sector.

In the case of a disturbance reported several times in the city center, the city police took away the amplifier of a music system to prevent further disturbances.

Another disturbance involved an argument between a couple. One of the two people eventually left the apartment and stayed with relatives.

Helpless persons

The city police organized help for five people this week.

The city police noticed an elderly wheelchair user standing in a dark side street at night. The woman stated that she did not have enough money for the cab, which is why she had to get out earlier. The city police took the woman home.

Due to the falling temperatures, the city police are increasingly checking the health of homeless people and pointing out assistance programs such as the tea room in Gerberstrasse.

Traffic

The traffic police recorded a total of 226 speeding vehicles at 36 measuring points and initiated appropriate proceedings.

A warning or fine was issued to 1777 vehicles for parking illegally or other traffic violations in stationary traffic.

The city police recorded 40 requests from the registration office to de-stamp uninsured vehicles.

A total of 39 cars were towed away.

Security / preventive controls

The fire department reported a woman to the city police who had made an emergency call. During the emergency call, the fire department staff only heard heavy breathing and panting. A call back from the rescue control center was unsuccessful. A patrol from the municipal police met the lively woman at the scene - she had triggered the emergency call by mistake.

During a house fire, the municipal police assisted the fire department by cordoning off the area and directing traffic.

The municipal police assisted the fire department and the state police in two other cases. One case involved a triggered fire alarm system and another involved a traffic accident.

A passer-by reported a defective gutter at Mainstrasse that was protruding into the sidewalk at head height. A patrol from the city police removed a defective part of the gutter and informed the homeowner of the hazard.

During an identity check due to a disturbance in Frankfurter Straße, several of the people being checked attacked the police officers. The members of the municipal police stopped the attacks but were slightly injured. The attackers received criminal charges.

A couple drew attention to themselves because they were followed and threatened by a drunken man near the market square. The city police took the man to the city police station so that he could sober up.
