City of Offenbach

Weekly report from October 20 to 26, 2025

27.10.2025

Disturbance of the peace

There were a total of 21 disturbances of the peace, three of them in the commercial sector.

During a disturbance in a bistro, the drunk husband of the bar owner was unruly and ranted at the patrol, saying things like "The city police can't do anything" and "You're just the city's janitors". Due to the alcohol-fueled situation, the city police threatened to close the bar.
When the patrol spoke to the bar owner outside, her husband constantly interrupted the conversation and moved towards the patrol in a threatening manner several times. When they tried to stop him, he resisted and had to be brought to the ground. As some of the bar patrons interfered, support patrols were called in. The situation could only be calmed down when they arrived. The husband was placed in the patrol car, where he continued to shout and bang his head on the side windows of the vehicle. After the bar owner's personal details were taken and she was warned to be quiet, she was released. The man was released a short time later with an expulsion order.

Helpless persons

The city police dealt with five helpless people this week.

A patrol observed a woman urinating in the middle of a street. The woman was unable to identify herself and made incoherent statements. She was taken to the city police station to establish her personal details. Due to her behavior and her statement that she had taken drugs, an ambulance was called. In the ambulance, she unbuckled her seatbelt and tried to get out, and in the hospital she even injured two of the officers on duty. However, both were able to continue their duties. The woman was eventually admitted to hospital.

Traffic

Traffic police officers carried out checks at 35 different measuring points using mobile speed measuring devices. In 181 cases, warnings or fines were issued for exceeding the speed limit.

In total, the traffic police had 22 vehicles towed away due to significant traffic disruptions, including blocked fire department access roads, entrances and exits, parked-up bends or unauthorized parking spaces for the severely disabled. In addition, 1560 incorrectly parked vehicles were recorded.

For the Offenbach registration office, 44 new vehicles were recorded for compulsory deregistration. This usually concerns vehicles for which the insurance or tax has not been paid or which are no longer roadworthy due to significant defects. In addition, the municipal police carried out 28 investigations at the respective residential addresses of vehicle owners on behalf of other authorities.

Security / preventive controls

A patrol was driving along Ziegelstraße. In the area of a crossroads, they saw several people on a bus looking after an elderly couple. The man was bleeding heavily from the back of his head and the woman's forearm was swollen. The bus driver explained that there had been a traffic accident. A car driver had taken the right of way from the bus, whereupon the bus driver had to brake hard. This caused the couple on the bus to fall. The patrol carried out initial medical treatment and bandaged the man's head wound; the personal details of all those involved were also recorded. An ambulance and the state police were requested to record the accident.

A patrol was immediately on the scene of another accident. A teenager riding an e-scooter on the sidewalk was hit by a vehicle coming out of an exit and fell. The boy was riding illegally on the sidewalk and in the wrong direction. The boy was uninjured and the vehicle was not damaged. The patrol took the boy to his home address and handed him over to his mother. Both were reminded once again that driving on the sidewalk and in the wrong direction is prohibited.

One vehicle was checked due to a considerable amount of smoke. The driver presented the police with a foreign driver's license. When asked, he explained that he had already had his driver's license transferred in Germany years ago, but that it had been withdrawn in the course of an ordered medical-psychological examination (MPU). As he was therefore not in possession of a valid German driving license, he had decided to drive with his remaining foreign driving license. He was instructed as a defendant in the criminal proceedings. He was forbidden to continue driving. As the vehicle was not roadworthy due to the smoke, the man was asked to organize someone to tow the vehicle away and remove it from the public road. The driver was then taken to the local police station for further processing.

A supermarket reported a dispute between two customers. When the patrol arrived, the situation was already calm. The city police recorded the following facts: A man had thrown a shopping basket at another man's and subsequently damaged a ceiling panel by throwing another basket. He then armed himself with a wine bottle, but did not hit the injured party. The victim complained of pain in his upper arm, where there was also clear swelling. Due to the criminal charges filed, the regional police were called in to investigate the matter.

A reported dispute between several people turned out to be a burglary. The patrol did not find the people on site. The complainant said that he had also heard a loud bang on the second floor. The patrol found a broken front door there. The state police were called in. At the same time, another break-in was reported in a neighboring building. Pepper spray residue was found here.

The public transport inspection service arrived at the city police station with a woman. She stated that she had no identification documents with her and gave personal details. With the information provided, it was not possible to identify the person concerned. She was informed that providing false information constitutes an administrative offense and was again asked to provide her correct personal details. The woman stated that she could not remember her birthday. A search was threatened in order to establish her identity. The woman emptied her pockets and suitable documents were found. The woman stated that the identity documents belonged to a friend and not to her. An administrative offense was recorded and the personal details were made available to the inspection service.

events

The city police were on duty at several smaller events. In addition, the stadium guard was manned at the OFC home match.

A vigil was authorized in the area of Aliceplatz and was monitored as planned. A known troublemaker, who was shouting drunkenly and rolling on the ground directly in front of the vigil, attracted attention. The city police ordered him to leave and escorted him out of the area.
