Summer Is Finally Here: Tips for Summer Vacation

This year, the popular “Playfountain” water fountain area will once again be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Aliceplatz from July 7 through August 2. Water fountains up to four meters high gush from around 1,000 nozzles, providing free fun and a refreshing way to cool off on warm summer days. A kids’ disco will take place at the opening on July 7.

Especially on hot summer days, the water pumps and water play areas at the playgrounds are very popular with children and provide a welcome way to cool off.

Offenbach offers a wide variety of summer camp programs. The OF Education Office has compiled these and organized them by theme. There are sports and climbing camps, various theater and creative courses, recreational camps, and summer camps in nature hosted by the Children’s and Youth Farm.
Things get really creative at the Klingspor Museum during the summer break: Participants will weave together, inspired by the cool lettered tapestries and other textiles from the “Powerful Textures” exhibition.

International Street Theater Festival on July 4
The International Street Theater Festival onJuly 4, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., invites you to marvel, experience, and participate in downtown Offenbach. Admission is free, and the venue is accessible to people with disabilities. The program booklet with the schedule will be available on the day of the event at the information desk at SCAPE°, Frankfurter Straße 39, 63065 Offenbach am Main.

“Summer Fun” at Wetterpark on August 2
The “Summer Fun”event at Wetterpark on Sunday, August 2, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., promises games, fun, and an exciting day for the whole family—perfect for everyone spending their summer vacation at home. The Wetterpark guides have set up an experiment station for guests of all ages and are offering a scavenger hunt through the park. There will also be a human foosball game, the playmobile from Abenteuerspielplatz Riederwald e.V., face painting, and a food and ice cream truck. Admission is free; no registration is required.

Festival of Lights on August 8
When 30,000 lights sparkle in competition with the stars in the sky, accompanied by the Capitol Symphony Orchestra, it promises to be another special evening. The Festival of Lights will take place on August 8 in Büsingpark, where the Capitol Symphony Orchestra will once again transport the audience through music history to heavenly realms with “License to Rock On His Majesty’s Symphonic Service,” a lively crossover performance. Tickets are available online or at the box office.
