Many participants in the government forest run

19.11.2024

On Sunday, November 10, the 51st Offenbacher Behörden & Volkswaldlauf took place in good weather. City Treasurer Martin Wilhelm, who himself took part in the six-kilometre run, welcomed all those present before the starting signal and thanked the organizing clubs: "I am very pleased that the representatives of LG Offenbach and Skiclub Offenbach and their club members support this only forest run in Offenbach, so that this traditional event can continue to take place."

Almost 200 runners and a total of twelve walkers set off on the route through the forest, which is easy on the joints. Those responsible at the ski club provided tea and refreshments for everyone and ensured that the route was safe. Prominent tree roots were marked with paint to make them visible to the runners.

The 1st chairman of LG Offenbach, Kristoffer Uhlisch, took over the announcements and ensured that the timekeeping and award ceremony ran smoothly. Municipal support was provided by the sports department.

The walkers completed a three-kilometer course. A maximum of two laps, and therefore 6 kilometers, is the greatest distance to be covered in the forest run, which also makes the Offenbach forest run interesting for newcomers and those returning to the sport.

As in the previous year, the Albert Schweitzer School was awarded the trophy for the group with the most participants. City Treasurer Martin Wilhelm finished fourth overall with a time of 23:09 minutes.

The next Offenbach Forest Run will take place on November 9, 2025.
