Higher fees for sports swimmers at Rosenhöhe

The forest swimming pool is dependent on high annual subsidies from the municipal budget, as it is not supported by revenue alone. As the city's financial situation is very tight, it is currently also looking for smaller optimization options.

Due to the rising costs of running the Waldschwimmbad on Rosenhöhe, the pool has been opening half an hour later on Tuesday and Thursday mornings since the beginning of this year. On these two days, the pool does not open to the public until 6.30 am. In addition, the fees for hiring the lanes for external users were increased in the new year. They now have to pay 30 euros per hour instead of the previous 20 euros. The higher fee for lane hire primarily affects sports swimmers who are not members of the EOSC or the Offenbach Water Sports Club. All other public swimmers who spend their free time there with children, for example, will pay the same entrance fee as before.

"With both measures, we are making a very small contribution to the swimming pool operations in the savings that are currently necessary. However, in addition to making major decisions, it is also important to examine on a small scale which savings measures are justifiable and not to exclude any areas," says Lord Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke.
