Building plot has been planted
20.11.2024 – A green space has been created on the building site at Herrnstraße 38, offering citizens a better quality of life in the city center. This was preceded by a resolution passed by the city councillors on 21 March 2024. Lord Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke, together with Paul-Gerhard Weiß, Head of Building and Planning, opened the green space last Thursday, 14 November, which will be in place for around ten years.
Schwenke thanked the owner, Kilian Bumiller, with whose agreement and at the expense of his company vav Bumiller-Fischer GbR the interim use was prepared. "This is not the first time we have worked together very successfully and certainly not the last. Over the past few months, we have had a good, constructive exchange and Mr. Bumiller has kept his word and delivered," said the Lord Mayor.
Schwenke referred to the "Green Belt" from the future concept for the city center, which connects Hugenottenplatz, Stadthof and Platz der Deutschen Einheit with plants: "Even if the use is only temporary now, it fits perfectly into our 'Green Belt' concept for the coming years." Paul-Gerhard Weiß concludes: "The result is a place with greenery where people can stay and move around - perhaps just for a quick chat, a game of boules, a coffee together or a moment to take a deep breath."
