Lively district with village charm
The river crossing at the Mainschleife near Bürgel was already used by the Romans, and the late medieval tower from 1492 is the oldest building in Bürgel and therefore also in Offenbach. The district, which today has around 10,000 inhabitants and is connected to the Fechenheim side of the Main by the Arthur-von-Weinberg footbridge, has developed into a sought-after middle-class residential area with a good infrastructure and lively club life. The extensive renaturalized Main floodplains and the nature reserve around the Schultheisweiher pond also contribute to this.
