Forecourt at the Lauterborn district office: a chess board invites you to play

25.08.2023 – The after-school children from Kita 8 and the young people from the youth center (JUZ) used the vacation period to redesign the forecourt in front of the district office in Lauterborn.

Young people from the Juz drew a chessboard during their creative week. Meanwhile, the after-school children from Kita 8 painted the square with an underwater world.

The result is a large chess board that the young people at the JUZ drew during the creative week. The playing field can be used permanently by chess players from the municipal senior citizens' meeting place and district office. The after-school children painted the board with a colorful underwater world.

Anyone interested in chess is cordially invited to play. From now on, advanced players and beginners can play chess together on Thursdays at 11 a.m. with the volunteer manager of the senior citizens' meeting place at the district office. Afterwards, they can enjoy a freshly prepared lunch prepared by the volunteers for a small fee. The field can also be used outside of Thursday playing hours. The chess pieces can be borrowed for a deposit during the opening hours of the district office.

The neighbourhood manager of the Lauterborn district office and head of the senior citizens' meeting place there, Antje Dins, is very pleased about the well-functioning cooperation with the after-school care centre and JUZ, so that further intergenerational, joint activities are to be implemented in the future.

The senior citizens' meeting point in the Lauterborn district office is located at Richard-Wagner-Straße 95, 63069 Offenbach, telephone number 069-83005785. The meeting point can be reached by buses on lines 104 and 105, getting off at the Europaplatz stop.
