Using the disposal fund to implement smaller projects in Bieber and Bürgel
02.06.2023
In Bieber and Bürgel, in addition to the urban development measures that the city of Offenbach plans to implement there over the next few years, there are many other good ideas for making the town centers more attractive, such as a district festival or the installation of benches and planters. The development fund is now providing financial support for the implementation of these projects.
The many good ideas, which can be realized independently by the citizens, are intended to supplement the larger urban measures from the integrated urban development concept. After all, these community projects strengthen civic commitment and promote the development of both town centers. In order for this to succeed, financial resources are made available in a straightforward procedure in the development fund. The Verfügungsfonds has already proven its worth in Nordend and Senefelder Quartier in the implementation of a wide range of community projects. The project ideas already implemented there by local groups or associations included a temporary skate park, a neighborhood board or the planting of a school garden. A separate disposition fund has now also been decided for the two town centers of Bieber and Bürgel.
A wide range of small to medium-sized measures can be supported by the disposal fund. This ranges from non-investment measures, such as festivals, to investment measures, such as the installation of benches or art in public spaces. 20,000 is made available annually for these measures. The disposal fund is financed by funds from the "Lebendige Zentren" urban development program and funds from the City of Offenbach.
Core area management provides support with applications
Associations, initiatives or even individual citizens can apply for funding. The municipal guidelines provide information on what can be funded and to what extent. The core area management team will be happy to provide support and advice on preparing a project application. The team can be contacted at mitte-machen-manageroffenbachde or at one of the next consultation hours (see link to current dates).
In order to ensure that the disposal fund also supports the relevant projects to strengthen the town centers, decisions on applications are made locally by the "Local Partnership" committee. This is made up of stakeholders from the two town centers and meets quarterly. Its meetings are open to the public and take place quarterly.
