The pond festival took place in Martin Luther Park for the first time this year during the fall vacations. On eight dates from October 6 to 17, the Senefelderquartier district office invited children to do arts and crafts, paint, play and print.
On Monday and Wednesday, street games were organized around the pond. Whether it was Schnick-Schnack-Schnuck or clapping and jumping games - everything was there to get the body moving. There was a specially designed stamp card for the participants, which was filled with several stamps over the course of the week. For example, on Thursday, when visitors were challenged to a table tennis tournament, or on Friday, October 10, when young and old met at the boat workshop to build boats from chipboard, popsicle sticks, collected leaves and acorns and colorful sails.
On Sunday, a marbling workshop was on the agenda, where colorful water structures were captured on postcards and made the park shine in new, fascinating colors. The second week of the program offered further creative highlights: a printing workshop in which nature motifs were printed on T-shirts, cloth bags and pencil cases, as well as a campfire evening with popcorn and an open-air cinema in cooperation with Stadtbiotop Offenbach and radraum. While the popcorn popped over the campfire in specially designed containers, numerous people gathered to watch the screening of the film "Noch einmal Walzer" (2023) about the One Community project. One of the initiators, Adetayo "Tutipsy" Manuwa was present.
The very well-attended program was concluded on Friday, 17 October, with a drawing workshop entitled "Everything has eyes and a face". Here, participants were able to explore everyday objects and shapes through drawing and give free rein to their creativity.
The pond festival was conceived by Studio Janina Albrecht in collaboration with the Senefelderquartier district office. For contributions or ideas for the coming year, please contact the neighborhood manager Jessica Teschke.
