Heat transition in Offenbach

Which heating system is best for me? What will the heat supply in Offenbach look like in the future? What is a municipal heating plan? All of these topics are part of the heating transition in Germany. Here you can find out what this will look like in Offenbach and how you as citizens can be a part of it.

Everything about the heating transition at a glance

As part of the heat transition being pursued throughout Germany, legislation also provides a perspective for the future development of the heat supply in Germany: The Building Energy Act (GEG) (opens in a new tab), better known as the "Heating Act", contains requirements for building envelopes and heating systems in order to raise the technical standard of buildings and increase the proportion of renewable energies in the heat supply.

Municipal heating planning (opens in a new tab), on the other hand, can be seen as a guide that shows every citizen an individual path towards the heating transition. A municipal heating plan identifies within a municipality which type of heat supply is most suitable for each urban area. The heating plan for the city of Offenbach is due to be completed in mid-2026.

The heating transition is an issue that will affect every citizen sooner or later. We would like to support you in being well informed and prepared. On the following pages, you will find extensive information on the GEG, municipal heat planning and the City of Offenbach's offer of a free impulse consultation for your building by commissioned, certified energy consultants (opens in a new tab).
