Collection box for used cell phones is available at the Offenbach Citizens' Office
27.04.2022
Disused cell phones often lie unused in a drawer. However, cell phones contain precious metals and materials that can be recycled. Since Monday, April 11, a collection box provided by Deutsche Umwelthilfe has been located in the entrance area of the citizens' office at Kaiserstrasse 39. Discarded cell phones with batteries and charging cables can be easily disposed of there during opening hours.
The condition of the appliances does not matter. Both functional and defective devices can be handed in. Deutsche Umwelthilfe offers repairable cell phones for resale in its own online store. The remaining cell phones are recycled in a certified process.
"By donating your cell phone, you are making a valuable contribution to the preservation of biodiversity and nature, as the environmental and nature conservation projects of Deutsche Umwelthilfe are supported with the proceeds of up to two euros for every cell phone collected," says Mayor and Climate Officer Sabine Groß, promoting the campaign.
