"Attention children" road markings improve road safety

01.11.2024

Today, the city of Offenbach is implementing road marking work to improve road safety for children in response to requests from schools and parents.

The new road markings encourage all road users to drive more carefully in areas where there are lots of children, which improves safety.

Mayor and Head of Mobility Sabine Groß

The "Attention children" ground pictograms will be installed in the area around the Humboldt and Goethe schools and near the harbor playground. The markings are particularly aimed at making the route to school safer. Children, especially those of primary school age, often make impulsive and unpredictable decisions when choosing their route. The "Attention children" pictogram clearly reminds all road users to reduce their speed and pay more attention to pedestrians, especially the youngest ones.
