Traffic calming on Wilhelmsplatz

The parking spaces and loading zones on Bieberer Straße can be reached from the north (from Berliner Straße) via Marktplatz and from the south via Waldstraße. The large parking lot on Wilhelmsplatz and the loading zone there can be reached from the north and south via Bleichstraße or Wilhelmstraße. Bleichstraße is a bicycle street. Bicycles have priority there in every respect! Through traffic is not permitted! However, cars heading for Wilhelmsplatz may use the cycle lane - as may local residents. If you want to save yourself the trouble of looking for one of the already limited parking spaces, you should head straight for one of the parking garages around Wilhelmsplatz. The closest is the "Q-Park" on Marktplatz. The new "Innenstadt" multi-storey parking lot and the "Waldstraße" multi-storey parking lot are particularly inexpensive. You can park for three hours free of charge on the banks of the Main, from there it is only a few minutes' walk to Wilhelmsplatz. Barrier-free parking is available on Bieberer Straße and in the large parking lot at Wilhelmsplatz (accessible only via Bleichstraße / Wilhelmstraße).

Wilhelmsplatz has excellent bus and train connections. Arriving by S-Bahn at Marktplatz, you can reach the weekly market, restaurants and retail outlets in just a few steps through Salzgäßchen. All Offenbach bus lines stop at the redesigned Marktplatz and lines 103 and 105 also stop directly at Wilhelmsplatz.

The new pedestrian zone on the side streets of Wilhelmsplatz may be used by bicycle. Please ride particularly carefully and slowly for your own safety and that of others! In future, you will also find bicycle parking spaces on the side streets. The "Innenstadt" bicycle parking garage on Ziegelstraße is also expected to open in the first half of 2023. If necessary, you can also use the new cycle lane, Bleichstraße, for your journey.

The traffic calming measures allow exceptions for justified reasons. Bicycles may continue to use the new pedestrian zone. Commercial delivery traffic, market vendors and residents of Wilhelmsplatz are granted an exemption to lower the bollards in the side streets, for example to access parking spaces on their own property. The exemption permit must be signed and submitted to the Public Order Office by email to sondernutzungen-verkehroffenbachde or by post.
