Transport development plan 2035

How should traffic develop in the future? The city of Offenbach has developed 53 measures together with Offenbach residents. They are to be implemented by 2035.

Results

The aim of the Transport Development Plan (VEP) 2035 is to achieve environmentally friendly, climate-friendly, digital and equal mobility for all. It sets out the strategic principles and guidelines for transportation in Offenbach over the next 15 years. It was drawn up together with citizens in an extensive participation process.

The municipal council and the city councillors have approved the transport development plan.

The results of the Transport Development Plan 2035 were documented in a final report and are available for download.

Mission statement and fields of action

  • Mobility for all people in Offenbach
  • Creating environmentally and climate-friendly mobility
  • Making Offenbach am Main a city worth living in
  • Improving accessibility throughout the city
  • Making transport infrastructure and resources more efficient

An action plan was developed to achieve these goals. The following fields of action form the framework for the individual measures included in the Transport Development Plan 2035:

  • Reorganization of traffic areas,
  • Traffic and mobility management,
  • Future-oriented mobility options,
  • pedestrian traffic,
  • cycling,
  • Public transport (bus and rail),
  • Motorized private transport (moving and stationary),
  • Commercial traffic

Twelve key measures

A total of twelve key measures were defined. Of these twelve, three are to be prioritized for implementation. These are: Updating the cycling concept and redefining a main and supplementary network, the creation of a city-wide parking management concept and participation in the regional economic transport strategy.

    City council approves new traffic development plan

    The municipal council approved the traffic development plan at its most recent meeting. If the city councillors follow suit, the transport development plan will form the basis for the next twelve years.
