The protection of your data is very important to the City of Offenbach am Main and the Stadtwerke Offenbach Group (hereinafter referred to as "we"), which is why we would like to inform you on this page about which data we collect during your visit and for what purposes. Your data is protected by us in particular within the framework of the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG - new), the Hessian Data Protection Act (HDSIG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG). In principle, no personal data is collected, processed or used when you visit our website.
Log and statistical data
Each time our website is accessed and each time a file is retrieved, the IP address, date and time, URL of the page visited, status code of the web server, amount of data transferred in bytes, the URL of the last website visited (referrer) and the web browser used (user agent) are stored in a log file. They are used exclusively for the purpose of data security and error analysis and are not passed on to third parties. The log data is deleted after eight days.
We reserve the right to activate complete logging of access for a limited period in the event of manipulation or attempted manipulation of this website.
For analysis purposes, we use the open source software Matomo (formerly Piwik), which also stores anonymized IP addresses. Anonymization is achieved by shortening the IP address. This means that no conclusions can be drawn about an Internet visitor. Matomo also collects certain technical information based on the data transmitted by your browser. These are Browser type and version, operating system used, device type, model and brand, screen resolution, the search engine used by your device, the websites visited on our site including the time spent on them, the day and time of your visit, the location of your visit (continent, country, region, city) and the browser language. We only evaluate this information for statistical purposes. The data is not passed on to third parties.
Cookies / data protection settings
The Matomo software for the statistical analysis of visitor access uses so-called cookies. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analyzed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is not passed on to third parties. The IP address is anonymized immediately after processing and before it is stored. You can prevent the installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly if you do not wish cookies to be used by our website.
Revocation of data collection by Matomo and social media release:

Volkshochschule Offenbach (vhs) / vhs course program
Course registration
At https://vhskurse.offenbach.de/webbasys/index.php, vhs Offenbach offers the opportunity to register online for a course. The data requested in the online registration form is used to carry out pre-contractual measures and to fulfill the contract. A distinction is made here between data that must be provided (marked with an asterisk) and data that must be provided voluntarily. No contract can be concluded without the mandatory data (name, address, year of birth). The vhs collects your year of birth to ensure that you are of legal age or to take any necessary precautions if you are underage. For special events, for example examinations, it may be necessary to provide your date of birth.
Your landline or mobile phone number and e-mail address are requested in the legitimate interest of being able to contact you immediately in the event of course changes. If you do not provide the vhs with this data, the vhs may not be able to contact you in time. The other voluntary information will also be used to execute the contract.
You can give the vhs a SEPA direct debit mandate by providing the IBAN, surname and first name of the account holder. If you do not provide us with the required bank details, no direct debit will be made and you will have to pay the course fee in cash at the service office before the course begins.
All data provided by you will be stored electronically. The resulting databases and applications may be managed by IT service providers commissioned by the vhs. The provision of your data by you is neither legally nor contractually required. Failure to provide voluntary data has no consequences.
Disclosure of your data
The vhs will pass on your name, e-mail address and - if provided - telephone number to the respective course instructor for the purpose of preparing and running the course. This also includes contacting you in the event of changes. For participation in certified examinations and qualifications (e.g. Cambridge or Telc language examinations, IHK examinations, Xpert, financial accountants, school-leaving qualifications), the vhs forwards the necessary data to the examination institutes. These transfers serve to fulfill the contract. For participation in integration courses, the vhs must pass on your name and required contact details to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). In addition, it may be necessary to pass on your data to the authorities in the case of state-funded courses and courses funded by the Federal Employment Agency. These transfers are based on a legal obligation.
If you are in arrears with a payment, the vhs reserves the right to forward your data (name, address, year of birth) to the treasury and tax office of the city of Offenbach am Main to enforce the claim as a legitimate interest.
Contacting
If you send a message to the vhs, the vhs will use the contact details provided to answer and process your request. The provision of your data depends on your request and your position as an interested party or course participant for the implementation of pre-contractual measures or for the fulfillment of the contract.

If you would like to subscribe to one of our newsletters and receive it by e-mail, please voluntarily enter the title, your surname and the e-mail address to which we should send the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from an e-mail newsletter at any time. To do this, simply click on the "Edit data or unsubscribe from newsletter" link at the end of each newsletter sent by e-mail. The data will be deleted after you unsubscribe from the newsletter.

This data is used on the one hand to send you push messages and on the other hand as proof of your registration.
A so-called "ServiceWorker" is used to receive push notifications, which receives the push notifications on your devices and informs you when push notifications are received. In addition, the content management system of the external service provider Sitepark GmbH, Neubrückerstraße 8 - 11, 48143 Münster, Germany, is used.
