On the hunt for themed tours and guided tours with Diana: Guided tour flyer 2026 now available

18.03.2026

The Diana statue in front of the Rumpenheim castle church.

The weather beckons us outside and the Roman goddess Diana, who was originally worshipped as the ruler of the free sky and nature and later of hunting, fits in perfectly with this. Since November 2019, a statue of Diana has adorned Rumpenheim Palace Park - and this year also the current guided tour flyer, which invites you to learn more about Offenbach's most famous lovers, the stories behind the beautiful buildings in the Westend and weather phenomena of all kinds with over 100 different approaches. It also includes dates for herb tours, walks peppered with wisdom from Frankfurt's national poet Stoltze and information about the annual new citizens' tour with Lord Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke. The tour for new residents and those who want to become one will take place on Saturday, June 27, and if you want to experience the city first-hand, it's best to register now, as places are always in high demand.

The Elmar Theater Club's dialect walks are also a popular classic. With Hessian anecdotes and stories from the 1950s, you can babble your way through the city center, into the past and present - here, too, we recommend booking quickly for April 6, May 1, August 23 or September 10.

The tour guide Monika Krämer guides you through the city in a knowledgeable and entertaining way, focusing on various topics and covering cultural history as well as architecture and urban development. The first dates are on March 23, "Offenbach cultural walk through Herrnstrasse" and on April 18, "Old Offenbach meets modernity".
Before that, spring will officially begin: the Wetterpark team will open this year's season with a special family program on Saturday, March 22, starting at 2 p.m. There will be plenty to experience and you can even win tickets for the Fun Forest climbing park. From April 6, the team will be inviting visitors of all ages on research tours, and you should make a note of the summer solstice on June 21 and the shooting star night on August 14.

The weather is also the subject of the SCAPE° - Weather. Klima. Mensch at Frankfurter Straße 39, which invites you to the "Wetter.Mi" workshop evening on Wednesdays from 6 pm and to Cinescape with contemporary film art on the first Thursday of every month at 7.30 pm. There is also an exciting program for young weather experts on the first Saturday of every month from 2 to 4 p.m. at the "Little Weather Saturday".
If you are looking for a special approach to the city, Stephanie Heeg-El-Sayed's guided tours are the right choice. Since studying art history, classical archaeology and pre- and early history at Frankfurt's Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, she has been on the road as a city guide and is not only very familiar with Brutalism and Offenbach's parks.

Incidentally, the Offenbach Adult Education Center's wild herb hike on May 16 will also take you to these parks; before that, on April 17, Head of Education Paul-Gerhard Weiß, author Ida Todisco and architect Anna Heep will invite you on an educational pedal tour through Offenbach. A day trip to the European Parliament in Strasbourg is also on the program for 18 May.

In addition to the tours and city walks, the flyer also lists guided tours in the city's three museums. The Haus der Stadtgeschichte at Herrnstraße 61, for example, is dedicating an exhibition to the 100th anniversary of the Offenbach Artists' Association (BOK) this year and is offering a historical city walk on March 21 and April 18. In addition, the Haus der Stadtgeschichte will once again be hosting Art Nouveau explorations by bike (27 June and 29 August) and text walks with author Katharina S. Eismann and museum director Dr. Jürgen Eichenauer (9 May, 13 June and 5 September).

The Klingspor Museum at Herrnstraße 80 is an internationally renowned and globally networked house of written art in Offenbach. The exhibition "AAIP Artists as indepedent publishers" will open there on March 28, and the following exhibition "Powerful Textures. Language in Textile" (opening on May 9), various themed tours will be offered. From September, book art from the Czech Republic will be on display and in December the 71st International Children's Book Exhibition. Here, too, there are themed tours. And anyone who would like to engage with book art in an informal setting is cordially invited to the book bar on Fridays. There are exciting lectures, discussions or workshops from 6 p.m. onwards, with admission at your choice.
Because Offenbach is not only the city of types and weather, but also looks back on a long tradition of leather processing, a visit to the German Leather Museum is well worthwhile. In addition to bags, shoes and all kinds of art objects made from this animal material, the museum at Frankfurter Strasse 86 will also be dedicating itself to its own history from June 12. Of course, this will also be accompanied by an attractive program.

The flyer is available at the vhs, at all public distribution points in the city and online here. The links to register for the New Citizens' Tour 2026 and to the vhs offers are also listed there.
