14.08.2025
Around 100 firefighters have been working on a large fire on a site in the area of Karl-Herdt-Weg / Hanauer Straße in the Bürgel district since around 1 pm. The fire has not yet been completely extinguished, but is now under control. The operation is expected to continue for another two hours. Due to the dense smoke development, the city had issued a warning message via the warning apps as a precautionary measure. However, according to the fire department, no harmful substances - apart from the usual fire gases - escaped. There were no injuries. A 30x40 meter plant hall, in which vehicles were also parked, burned down. Neighboring greenhouses also fell victim to the flames. The Offenbach professional fire department, the volunteer fire departments from Rumpenheim, Waldheim and Bieber, support staff from the fire departments from the Offenbach district (Obertshausen, Mühlheim, Neu-Isenburg and Seligenstadt), the police with two water cannons, the rescue service and the technical relief organization for the support of the emergency services are in action.
