The volunteer and professional emergency services of the city of Offenbach also prepare themselves for mentally demanding missions. The Rotary Club Offenbach finances the training of 20 peers. Peers are collegial, qualified emergency personnel who are the first point of contact for emergency personnel who have experienced mentally stressful operations and would like to talk about them. Peers can also refer them to psychological specialists if necessary.
The training began on 12 September 2025 with emergency personnel from aid organizations, church organizations, the public order office, the professional fire department and the volunteer fire department and is carried out over two weekends by the Bundesvereinigung Stressbearbeitung nach belastenden Ereignissen e.V. (Federal Association for Stress Management after Stressful Events).
