Car fire in the entrance area to the underground parking garage of an eight-story residential building

16.11.2022 – At 0:28 a.m., several emergency calls were received, some from residents of the affected eight-story residential building, about a fire and heavy smoke in Frankfurter Straße near the corner of Luisenstraße.

Two cars and garbage containers were on fire, the smoke drifted upwards along the entire facade of the building and was already entering the stairwell of the building. The fire had broken out in the passageway under the building to the underground parking garage.

17 people and two dogs fled to the terrace, where they were taken to a safe area by the fire department. A further 4 people were led out of their apartments at the same time using fire escape hoods. Fortunately, no one had to be transported to hospital, a few were treated on site as outpatients.

The fire was extinguished by the fire department after approx. 40 minutes. In addition, the smoke from the stairwell was forced out by ventilation measures.
