Wildfire in Mühlheim - supra-local request
25.06.2023 – On 25.06.2023 at around 5 p.m., the Offenbach fire department's forest fire brigade was called out to Mühlheim for neighborly assistance. An extensive wildfire had broken out there for unknown reasons.
The sub-units of the professional fire department and the volunteer fire departments from Bieber and Waldheim were immediately alerted and dispatched to Mühlheim.
On site, the Offenbach fire department supported the firefighters from Mühlheim in fighting the fire and supplying extinguishing water.
Fortunately, the fire was quickly reported as "under control", preventing it from spreading to an adjacent allotment garden. The operation ended for the Offenbach forces at 20:10 after they were released by the local incident command.
Due to the increase in the number of incidents, several fire departments from the Offenbach district were also alerted, which led to an increased number of emergency vehicles in the city area. To ensure basic protection, the Waldheim fire department had another fire engine at its fire station.
