Fire in the waste bunker of the waste-to-energy plant
18.02.2024 – The fire department of the Offenbach professional fire department was alerted at 19:03 to a triggered fire alarm system in the waste-to-energy plant.
On site, the fire department's incident commander confirmed heavy smoke in the area of the loading ramp to the waste bunker and a fire. Thanks to the immediate intervention of the six employees of the waste-to-energy

The spread of smoke inside the waste bunker and in the immediate outside area was considerable. There was no danger to the surrounding population or to traffic on the nearby BAB 3 highway at any time due to the spread of smoke.

The extinguishing work continued until around 23:00.
During the operation at the waste-to-energy plant, fire protection in the Offenbach city area was ensured by the Offenbach volunteer fire department.
