Incident: Fire in a car with hybrid drive technology
At 2:21 p.m. today, a fire broke out in a car dealership in Offenbach involving a vehicle with hybrid drive technology. For as yet unexplained reasons, the battery of the drive system ignited and began to burn, emitting flames and smoke. Thanks to the timely implementation of safety measures by the employees of the car dealership, major damage was prevented.
After arriving, the Offenbach fire department quickly implemented extinguishing measures, which also resulted in the fire being quickly contained. Due to the ongoing fire processes, the deployed forces specifically cooled the installed battery pack. As a result, it continued to cool down as the combustion process was reduced to a minimum. Once the measures had been completed, a specialized company took over the removal and subsequent secure storage of the car. This ended the fire department's mission at around 17:24.
Forces deployed: Offenbach professional fire department, Offenbach city rescue service
