Large-scale operation at cellar fire, one person rescued

15.12.2024 – Late Saturday evening at 10:47 p.m., the police reported to the central control center of the Offenbach professional fire department that a fire had broken out in a residential building on Kurfürstenstraße in Bürgel and that people were in danger.

The fire department of the professional fire department, the Rumpenheim and Waldheim volunteer fire departments and the rescue service were then alerted.

7 minutes after the alarm was raised, the emergency services arrived at the scene of the fire and began searching for people in the building. A few minutes later, one person was rescued from their apartment and brought outside, where they were treated by the emergency services. The fire was searched for by several teams and also discovered and extinguished after a few minutes in the basement of the building.

The 68-year-old resident was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation. One firefighter sustained a cut to his hand during the operation.
