Burning roof structure of an attached garage in the immediate vicinity of the fire department
06.04.2025 – Early Sunday morning at 2:05 a.m., the central control center of the professional fire department received a report via emergency call 112 that a garage extension in Obere Grenzstraße was on fire.
As the scene was in the immediate vicinity of the professional fire department's station, the alerted fire engine was on site in just a few minutes and was able to report "fire under control" at 02:42. The roof skin of the garage was removed using the turntable ladder and the fire was extinguished with a pipe.
The extinguishing work was supported by the Waldheim volunteer fire department with a further 2 vehicles.
Using new drone technology, the embers could be found from the air via an integrated thermal imaging camera and extinguished in a targeted manner. One hour after the alarm was raised, the operation could be ended.
